Division Order and Oil and Gas Royalty Check Review

Prior to producing oil and gas from your property, oil and gas companies will mail you a document called a “Division Order” asking you to confirm your percentage of ownership in the pooled unit. Our firm can review your division order to confirm the correct percentage of ownership and review the language of the agreement to ensure that you are protected. Once production begins, our firm is willing to review your royalty statements and discuss the accuracy of the payments with you.

Your oil and gas royalty payments are dependent upon accurate data entry by employees who work for oil and gas operators. In the last two years, our Firm has located multiple data entry errors resulting in the recovery of ~$160,000 of impermissible deductions from royalty payments. Further, oil and gas operators are obligated to make royalty payments within a certain period of time from the beginning date of production.

Our Firm has recovered ~$20,000 in interest due on royalty payments due to oil and gas operators not making royalty payments on time.
